Psychiatric Disability Services of Victoria (VICSERV) Inc., is the peak body for Psychiatric Disability Rehabilitation and Support Services in Victoria, Australia.They have demonstrated a high level of commitment to developing the skills of the staff in their sector over many years.

Their member agencies provide housing support, home-based outreach, psychosocial and pre-vocational day programs, residential rehabilitation, mutual support and self help, employment, training and support, carer education, respite and advocacy.

In 2009, VICSERV wanted to learn more about the workforce training needs of its member organisation's and undertook an extensive learning needs analysis to aid its planning.  a learning needs analysis of its workforce at both support worker and manager level. From this information they form skills development solutions that are relevant to workforce needs and build confidence and competence in the workforce.

VICSERV work closely with Wodonga TAFE and provide access to Certificate IV in Mental Health as well as Diploma of Business to support the development of management and leadership skills. 

VicServ are also now offering their workforce the opportunity to undertake the Diploma of Quality Auditing. This is a direct outcome of the Learning Needs Analysis through a partnership with the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare as the RTO.

It is commited to the developing its staff to ensure that professional quality care is delivered to its residents. The staff have been involved in supporting others in attaining formal qualifications in Aged Care and other qualifications.

Mercy Health Training Institute

Mercy Health Training Institute have demonstrated a high level of commitment
to developing a VET in Schools program in
Allied Health for the schools in the municipalities of Banyule and Nillumbik.

Mercy Health Training Institute has been key to developing the program, attracting the students and providing the clinical placements.

They have worked closely with the Banyule Nillumbik LLEN, the City of Banyule and other stakeholders to ensure this pilot program is successful.

The LLEN has helped liaise with the schools and worked to ensure the stakeholders are engaged in achieving a successful pilot program and would be able to provide further details on how the enthusiasm and commitment of the Mercy Health Training Institute has been pivotal in establishing the first Allied Health VETiS course for this area.

Mercy Health Training Institute is part of Mercy Health, a Catholic community benefit organisation operating acute hospitals, aged care, mental health and home and community care services across Victoria and New South Wales (Albury and Young regions).

It provides Certificate II to IV qualifications have access to relevant and supported workplace practical placements in their own hospitals and residential aged care facilities.

They have a team of qualified trainers and assessors who have current industry expertise and practical experience.
